The Dallas Mavericks have emerged as a possible trading partner with the Sacramento Kings for Ben McLemore.

McLemore is seeking a trade from the Kings.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Chicago Bulls have also been interested in McLemore.

The Sacramento Kings and Chicago Bulls have held discussions centered on a trade involving Pau Gasol.

In the discussed scenario, the Kings would acquire Gasol and Tony Snell from the Bulls for Kosta Koufos, Ben McLemore and the lowering of lottery protections on a pick owed by Sacramento to Chicago.

The lowering of protections would increase the odds of the pick being conveyed to the Bulls.

The pick owed to the Bulls began in 2011 with the Kings' trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers when they acquired J.J. Hickson for Omri Casspi and a future first rounder. The pick was then dealt to the Chicago Bulls in 2014 for Luol Deng.

The Kings have reached out to the Philadelphia 76ers because they have the right to swap picks with the Kings on the 2016 selection. The 76ers were preparing to ask for a sweetener to allow the Kings to move on a trade with the Bulls because of the pick swap.

The Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves have interest in Ben McLemore.

McLemore is seeking a trade from the Sacramento Kings and the two sides are reportedly working together on finding a partner.

The Kings selected McLemore in the lottery in 2013 and his minutes are down this year under George Karl.

Vance Walberg has been fired as assistant coach of the Sacramento Kings.

Walberg was previously an assistant coach under George Karl with the Denver Nuggets as well. Walberg is credited with creating the dribble-drive offense that has been made famous by John Calipari at Kentucky.

Karl was reportedly strongly against the decision.

“This was a tough decision made after consideration of what is best for the team moving forward,” Vlade Divac said in a statement. “We want to thank Vance for his contributions to the organization and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”

Vivek Ranadive and Vlade Divac were canvassing potential general manager candidates during All-Star weekend.

The Sacramento Kings have acknowledged that Divac has been overwhelmed by the collective bargaining agreement and the way most NBA organizations are now run.

The Kings have privately told people they plan to run a search for both a general manager and head coach as soon as their season ends.

George Karl will be retained for the remainder of the season but they've shown no inclination to bring him back.

Ben McLemore is working with the Sacramento Kings on trying to find a trade partner.

McLemore was the seventh overall pick by the Kings in 2013 and is represented by Rich Paul.

McLemore is averaging just 21.0 minutes per game this season after averaging 32.6 last season.

The Kings are trying to make a playoff push.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have interest in trading for Kosta Koufos of the Sacramento Kings.

Koufos signed a four-year, $33 million deal with the Kings in the offseason.

Koufos is represented by Klutch Sports, which also is the agency of LeBron James and Tristan Thompson.

The Sacramento Kings have made it clear DeMarcus Cousins is not available ahead of the trade deadline.

The Kings considered trading Cousins last June amid a difference of personalities between he and George Karl, but the franchise decided to keep him.

The Kings remain in playoff contention in the Western Conference.

The Sacramento Kings decided to hold off on firing George Karl this week, but it could have been for financial issues.

"The reason they didn't fire George Karl was over monetary concerns. Vivek Ranadive does not own a majority of the team. He's the controlling owner. They're paying so many coaches not to coach that his partners really fought him on swallowing another contract. That was part of the decision in not firing George Karl."

The Kings remain in contention for the playoffs.

The Kings are also paying Michael Malone and Tyrone Corbin.

The Miami Heat have shown interest in Omri Casspi of the Sacramento Kings.

Casspi is owed $3 million this season and next.

Casspi is shooting 42.2 percent on three-pointers and averaging 12.3 points per game, making him a good signing for the Kings last offseason.
