Raptors Not 'Experienced' Enough To Drop Morning Shootarounds

Dec 21, 2009 11:25 AM

The Celtics, Spurs and Blazers have successfully managed to drop the traditional morning shootaround, but Raptors coach Jay Triano said Sunday his team isn't ready to drop the morning tradition.

"We've thought about it. We just don't think we're as experienced a team as the ones that are doing it," Triano told the Star's Dave Feschuk. "We still think we have a lot of teaching so that our players know what they're doing in certain situations."

Bosh Believes Raptors Need To Trust System

Dec 17, 2009 12:36 PM

The Raptors have struggled in back-to-back games against the Heat and Magic.

"We make adjustments with teams before we play the game. That sends the wrong message to ourselves," Chris Bosh said Wednesday night. "We practice all the time so we should trust our system. We need to go out there and play hard. If they beat us for one quarter doing the things we normally do, then okay. Now we can change it up."

Bosh had 20 points, six rebounds and three assists against Orlando.

"We're taking two steps forward and three steps back,'' Bosh said. "We're there some nights, but not there others. We've got to look ourselves in the mirror, and do what we're supposed to do. It's always talk, talk, talk -- but it's about action.''

Bosh also spoke of the possibility of playing with another All-Star.

"Anytime you have another All-Star, it makes things easier. That would be fun,'' Bosh said after Wednesday's game. "I don't know if it would work with Dwight. We're both in the post, and we might be in each other's way. We both demand the ball. He (Wade) is a guard. That would be different.''

Bosh Laments Continued Failure In Battle Of The Paint

Dec 16, 2009 11:29 AM

Miami held advantages of 52-30 in points in the paint and 19-8 on fast breaks during their 115-95 win over Toronto.

"Everybody outscores us in the paint," Chris Bosh said. "What makes it disappointing is we have been talking about it for so long and we don't do a very good job at that.

"We're going to have to take the attitude it is not going to happen anymore, and until that happens, we will be a so-so team."
