Warriors Had Interest In Trading For Kyle Lowry In 2013

Mar 27, 2017 11:44 AM

The Golden State Warriors had interest in trading with the Toronto Raptors for Kyle Lowry in 2013.

During the early part of Masai Ujiri's tenure with the Raptors, he shopped Lowry to the New York Knicks and other teams. Lowry was set to be a free agent that offseason.

The Warriors were unwilling to include Festus Ezeli with a pick in their offer for Lowry.

Lowry went on to lead the Raptors to a playoff berth and has become one of their best players in franchise history.

Lowry conceivably could have given the Warriors a two-point guard backcourt with Stephen Curry. The great unknown is whether the Warriors would have been more willing to include Klay Thompson in their trade offer that offseason for Kevin Love if they had traded for and re-signed Lowry.

Robin Lopez, Serge Ibaka Ejected After Exchanging Punches

Mar 21, 2017 11:16 PM

Robin Lopez and Serge Ibaka were ejected from Tuesday's game after exchanging punches.

Ibaka snached a rebound away from Lopez and elbowed the back of Lopez. Lopez responded by swiping at the ball. Ibaka shoved Lopez and then Lopez threw a punch at Ibaka that missed. Ibaka then retaliated with a punch of his own that grazed Lopez's head.

Ibaka and Lopez continued to go at each other, which led to several other players and assistant coaches from each bench joining the fray.

The two players continued to lob harsh words at each other and were separated by teammates.

Raptors Hold Lengthy Meeting Following Blowout Loss To Thunder

Mar 17, 2017 11:12 AM

The Toronto Raptors held a lengthy postgame meeting following their 123-102 loss at home to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Dwane Casey didn't address the media until 38 minutes after the game ended compared to his typical 10-15 minutes.

"That exhibition of basketball was unacceptable," Casey said. "I want to apologize to our fans, everybody, for the way we played tonight. The effort, the competitive spirit wasn't there. That team came out and played like it was a championship game and we played like it was a middle of the season game.

"So I apologize."

"A lot of people talked a lot," P.J. Tucker said of the meeting. "It was a good conversation but enough talking. We've got 14 games left, it's time to put it into action, it's time guys go out and show that we care about each other and we want to do something special here. We have the team to do it.

"It was terrible. It was a terrible game. There's no two ways to put it, it was a terrible game."
