Wall Believes He's Faster Than Westbrook

Mar 28, 2013 11:24 AM

John Wall was asked if Russell Westbrook is the fastest player in the NBA.

“No, I'm going to say myself,” Wall said after shooting just 3-for-18 from the field in the Wizards' 103-80 loss to OKC on Wednesday.

Wall couldn’t say for certain that Westbrook was the league's second-fastest player.

“It's tough man,” said Wall. “There's a couple fast guys in this league. He (Westbrook) is up there, Derrick (Rose) is up there, when he's healthy. Mike Conley's pretty quick. There's a couple guys. Ty Lawson's quick. So there's a lot of guys, but I put myself first.”

Livingston Calls Wizards 'One Of Worst Spots' Of Career

Mar 13, 2013 2:39 PM

Shaun Livingston agreed to return to the Washington Wizards as the season began after being released by the Houston Rockets.

Livingston was released in December by the Wizards and was claimed by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

“Probably one of the worst spots I’ve been in my career,” Livingston said of his time with the Wizards. “At the same time, it’s been a godsend here.”

Livingston said the lack of structure within the organization made it a bad fit for him.

“I knew it wasn’t necessarily the best fit for me,” he said. “Sometimes it’s just about the fit. … I’m not a guy who goes out and gets 30 a game. I’m trying to make guys better and it just wasn’t bonding.”

John Wall Believes He 'Definitely' Deserves Max Contract

Mar 11, 2013 1:55 PM

John Wall has not lived up to the hype that came along with the expectations he was placed under after being the No. 1 pick in the 2010 Draft, but he will be eligible for a contract extension this offseason as he enters the final year of his rookie deal.

And in Wall's eyes, he is a max player and worth that contract from the Washington Wizards.

"I feel like I am. I do, definitely," Wall said.

Still, Wall has not started thinking about a possible extension.

"Look, I’m just enjoying D.C," Wall said. "This hasn’t been going the way we wanted it to, in terms of winning, but I think we are building something here."

Bradley Beal's 'Confidence Is Sky High'

Mar 3, 2013 2:07 PM

Bradley Beal recently passed John Wall as the Washington Wizards' leading scorer, and the rookie guard has been on a major tear over the past eight games, averaging almost 21 points on 49.2 percent shooting.

Beal scored a career-high 29 points on four three-pointers and grabbed 11 rebounds in the Wizards' loss to the New York Knicks Friday. After having early struggles this season, Beal has been a significant contributor and his confidence has followed upward.

“It’s really just showing,” Beal said. “You can see how calm I am and I’m really just starting to be relaxed. I’m not pressuring myself and my teammates do a great job of setting me up to be able to make plays. Coach and my teammates as well, do a great job setting me up and putting me in position to make those plays. My confidence is sky high, ever since January on.”
