Undrafted point guard David Stockton -- the son of NBA Hall of Famer John Stockton -- will sign a training camp contract with the Washington Wizards on Friday, a league source told RealGM.

Wizards Agree To Deal With Vander Blue

Sep 24, 2014 2:41 PM

The Washington Wizards have reached agreement with guard Vander Blue for a contract to training camp, league sources told RealGM.

With Garrett Temple dealing with a nagging injury heading into camp, the Wizards had brought Blue and other guards into workouts over the past couple days. Blue also worked out for the San Antonio Spurs last week, but Washington leaned toward a deal with the 6-foot-4 combo guard after its meeting.

As a junior out of Marquette, Blue, 22, went unselected in the 2013 NBA draft and signed two contracts last season: a multi-year camp deal with the Philadelphia 76ers and a 10-day deal with the Boston Celtics.

Blue scored five points in his three games for the Celtics.

Rasual Butler Reaches Non-Guaranteed Deal With Wizards

Sep 22, 2014 6:54 PM

11-year NBA veteran Rasual Butler has reached agreement on a non-guaranteed contract with the Washington Wizards, a league source told RealGM.

Butler's agent, Joel Bell, confirmed the signing on Monday.

A year ago, Butler played for the Indiana Pacers in the NBA summer league, signed a similar unguaranteed contract with the organization and remained for the entire season. After failing to sign an NBA deal for 2012-13, the 6-foot-7 swingman went through a training camp competition for a regular season roster position.

In 50 games for the Pacers last season, Butler averaged 2.7 points and 7.6 minutes while shooting 41.9 percent from three-point distance. He gradually became a focal voice within Indiana's young core.

Butler, 35, has also played for Miami, New Orleans, the Los Angeles Clippers, Chicago and Toronto over his career, averaging 7.8 points and 2.4 rebounds.

Butler was the Heat's second round draft pick in 2002 out of La Salle.

Wizards Finalizing Contract With Xavier Silas

Sep 15, 2014 5:24 PM

Free agent guard Xavier Silas is finalizing a contract with the Washington Wizards, league sources told RealGM.

Silas was a final release out of the Wizards’ training camp a year ago, but he grew close to several players and continued to work out in the team’s practice facility this summer. The Wizards will give him another opportunity to earn a regular season roster spot.

Silas, a 6-foot-5 two-guard, averaged 19.4 minutes, 5.5 points and two rebounds in two regular season games with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2011-12.

Silas, 26, went undrafted in 2011 after four seasons at Northern Illinois.
