The Washington Wizards hope to have a new standalone practice facility location by the end of the offseason.

“I’m hoping by the end of the offseason to make an announcement that says this is the place that we’re  going to build it and how long it will take,” Ted Leonsis said.

A new facility could potentially host the Wizards' D-League team in the future.

“First priority for us is to get a Wizards practice facility,” Leonsis said. “So I’m still working that one hard and then if we can find a good place and build that, that would be a good place for the D-League team to play. So that’s the steps we’re taking.”

Paul Pierce can opt out of his contract with the Washington Wizards this offseason.

Many around the league expect Pierce to opt out and finish his career with the Los Angeles Clippers. Pierce would have the opportunity to reunite with Doc Rivers while also playing in his hometown.

Pierce was pursued by the Clippers last offseason.

The Wizards thrived with Pierce as a small ball power forward.

Bradley Beal becomes eligible for a contract extension this offseason with the Washington Wizards, but doing so would compromise their cap space for 2016.

The Wizards intend to pursue Kevin Durant next offseason if they have sufficient cap space.

The Wizards are committed to giving Beal a max contract eventually, but hope to time it in a way that is similar to what the San Antonio Spurs did last offseason with Kawhi Leonard.

Beal would become a restricted free agent in 2016 and could become unrestricted in 2017 if he were to play for the qualifying offer of $7.5 million.

Marcin Gortat addressed the personal issues that began to plague him sometime after the All-Star break.

“I would say in the eight years of my career, the eighth year was pretty much the toughest one from a personal standpoint,” said Gortat, who completed the first of a five-year, $60 million contract. “I had some issues during the season and that definitely didn’t help me to focus on basketball. That part is on me, definitely on me. I can’t blame anybody for that. I’m not going to talk about those issues. That’s why we call this personal business.”

Gortat struggled in the second half of the season, but was highly productive in the playoffs.

“As much as I love Nene, and I think Nene understands this too, I would love to play with a stretch-four, with a guy who shoots the ball from the three-point line,” Gortat said. “Because that automatically gives me room under the basket to operate and gives me more opportunity to play pick-and-rolls and roll to the paint where the paint is open.”

Garrett Temple said he expects to opt into his minimum salary player option for next season.

Temple averaged 3.9 points in 52 games this season.

All four Conference Semifinals have played six games with the Warriors, Cavaliers and Hawks eliminating the Grizzlies, Bulls and Wizards, while the Clippers and Rockets will meet in Game 7.

Kevin Seraphin is prepared to leave the Washington Wizards this offseason in free agency in order to receive a larger opportunity.

Seraphin, who signed a one-year qualifying offer last summer for $3.9 million to remain with Washington, is eager to receive more minutes.

"I definitely want a chance to be a starter," Seraphin, who matched his career high with 79 regular-season appearances but didn't start a game for the 46-win Wizards, told CSNwashington.com. "I definitely want to be somewhere I have a chance to be a starter."

Seraphin is caught playing behind Marcin Gortat and Nene.

Paul Pierce said he is unsure at the moment about whether he will return for next season.

"A lot has to do with my family, talking to my wife, kids, my mother," Pierce said.

The Washington Wizards were eliminated from the playoffs on Friday.

Pierce has a player option on his contract for the 2015-16 season.

When Paul Pierce hit a go-ahead three-pointer in the closing seconds of Game 5 (Vine), he reportedly looked at the Atlanta Hawks' bench and said "Series."

The Hawks won the game on the next play when Al Horford had a put back at the buzzer (Vine).

"I was just put in that position and I just made a play. I’m just excited that were a 3-2 now," said Horford.

Pierce hit a game-winner in Game 3 for the Washington Wizards and said that he called "game" instead of "bank" on the attempt when he used glass.
