The Washington Wizards are expected to offer Bradley Beal a five-year deal for the maximum amount when free agency begins on July 1st.
Based on the $92 million salary cap projection teams are working with, a max contract would pay Beal around $22 million next season because he could just under 25 percent of the cap amount as a four-year veteran.
Beal earned $5.6 million last season and will have a cap hold of $14.2 million. While the Wizards hope to quickly come to an agreement with Beal, they plan on waiting to sign the deal until they pursue free agents using his cap hold as a lower cap figure.
Beal has been injury prone in his career but productive when healthy.
Beal was the third overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft out of Florida.
