Tommy Brenton Named American East Player Of The Year

Stony Brook's Tommy Brenton has been named the America East Player of the Year.

Brenton was joined by Albany's Mike Black, D.J. Irving of Boston University, Mark Nwakamma of Hartford and Vermont's Brian Voelkel.

Brenton was also named Defensive Player of the Year.

Jameel Warney was named Rookie of the Year.

Jake O'Brien Transfers To Temple

Aug 08, 2012 11:06 PM EDT

Jake O’Brien will play his final college basketball season at Temple.

"I chose Temple because of the success of the program and a chance for me to come in right away to contribute and compete for [an opportunity to reach] the NCAA tournament," O’Brien said.

The 6-foot-8 O'Brien sat out the 2011-2012 season as a medical redshirt.

O’Brien averaged career highs of 13.8 points and 6.4 rebounds as a sophomore for BU.
