Warren, Parker Headline ACC Awards

T.J. Warren has been named ACC Player of the Year by both the coaches and media.

Joining Warren on the All-ACC First Team (media) are Jabari Parker, C.J. Fair, K.J. McDaniels and Marcus Paige. 

On the All-ACC Second Team (media) are Malcolm Brogdon, Tyler Ennis, Rodney Hood, James McAdoo and Lamar Patterson.

Parker also was named ACC Freshman/Rookie of the Year by the media and coaches, while McDaniels received Defensive Player of the Year honors from both voting contingents.

Ennis, Kennedy Meeks, London Perrantes, Devin Wilson joined Parker on both All-Freshman Teams.

Jim Larranaga Agrees To Extension With Miami Through 2022

Jim Larranaga has agreed to a contract extension to remain at Miami through the 2021-22 season.

Larranaga's extension adds three seasons to his contract.

Larranaga is 49-2 during his tenure at Miami.

Paul White Reopens Recruitment, Plans Visit To Miami

Paul White, a versatile 6-foot-9 forward who earlier this month narrowed to five schools, has reopened his recruitment.

White’s list included included Arizona, UConn, DePaul, Minnesota and Georgetown.

"Paul and his family took the information, gave it some consideration and thought, and decided it was best for everyone involved if he did open things back up and revisit things," White’s coach, Tyrone  Slaughter said. "I believe he owes it to himself to open it back up and listen to people who may be interested."

White plans visit to Miami this Thursday.

Ja'Quan Newton Commits To Miami

Ja'Quan Newton has committed to Miami as a recruit in the 2014 incoming class.

Newton is a top-50 recruit that also considered UCLA, Minnesota, Oregon, Syracuse and Texas A&M.

Newton is considered one of the more aggressive point guard prospects in the country.

The 2013 NBA Draft has 77 early entry candidates, with 46 players from United States' colleges and 31 internatinoal players.

Players have the right to withdraw no later than June 17 ahead of the June 27 draft in Brooklyn.

Shane Larkin To Enter NBA Draft

Shane Larkin plans to enter the NBA draft and skip his final two seasons at Miami.

Larkin is considered the third-best point guard in the draft class behind Michigan's Trey Burke and Syracuse's Michael Carter-Williams.

Larkin led the Hurricanes to the ACC regular season title and the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament.

Shane Larkin Will Wait Until Draft Deadline To Decide Future

Shane Larkin will wait until the April 28 deadline before announcing whether he will declare for the NBA draft.

"I'm just going to class right now,” Larkin said. “I have finals coming up, so that's what I'm really focused on."

A 5-foot-11 point guard, Larkin is being projected as a late-first to late-second round draft pick.

Larkin averaged 14.6 points on 47.9 percent shooting last season and was voted the ACC player of the year by the league’s coaches.
