Belmont Wins Ohio Valley Tournament

Belmont won the 2013 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament, beating Murray State by a final of 70-68.

Kerron Johnson was named tournament MVP and was joined on the All-Tournament Team by Isaiah Canaan, Stacy Wilson, Ian Clark and Kellen Thornton.

Isaiah Canaan, Ian Clark Headline Ohio Valley Honors

Isaiah Canaan of Murray State and Ian Clark of Belmont have been named co-winners of the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year award.

Joining Canaan and Clark on the All-OVC First Team are Edward Daniel of Murray State, Eastern Kentucky's Mike DiNunno, Belmont's Kerron Johnson and Patrick Miller of Tennessee State.

Clark also was named Defensive Player of the Year, while Austin Peay's Chris Horton won Freshman of the Year honors.

Temple's Dunphy Voted NCAA's Most Underrated Coach

Fran Dunphy of Temple is the most underrated college coach in the NCAA according to a poll of nearly 100 coaches.

Dunphy received 14 percent of the vote, while Randy Bennett of Saint Mary's received nine percent. 

Rick Byrd of Belmont, Bill Self of Kansas, Buzz Williams of Marquette and John Calipari each received seven percent.

Davidson's Bob McKillop and West Virginia's Bob Huggins received five percent of votes.

"His teams always win," said a coach of Dunphy. "They are just like him. Quiet, unassuming. He's a good guy and just wins."
