Georgetown's Otto Porter has been named the 2013 Big East Player of the Year. Porter is the first player from the Hoyas to win the Big East's top honor since Jeff Green in 2007.

Joining Porter on the All-Big East First Team are Notre Dame's Jack Cooley, Bryce Cotton of Providence, Louisville's Gorgui Dieng and Russ Smith, and UConn's Shabazz Napier.

Dieng was also named Defensive Player of the Year, while St. John's Jakarr Sampson was named Rookie of the Year.

Austin Colbert has committed to Illinois. 

Colbert is a top-100 recruit in the class of 2013.

Colbert, a 6-9 power forward, also considered Miami, Seton Hall and Villanova.

Aquille Carr will have charges of domestic assault dropped if he completes a 22-week program with the Houston of Ruth.

Carr is one of the top high school senior basketball players in the country.

Carr has been charged with striking the mother of his child during an argument.

Carr, a 5-foot-6 point guard whose nickname is "Crimestopper," has verbally committed to Seton Hall. 

Aquille Carr will not participate in this weekend’s Under Armour Elite 24 showcase following his arrest on a domestic assault charge.

The Seton Hall signee is accused of attacking his former girlfriend outside a Southeast Baltimore trade school.

Aquille Carr has been arrested on charges of assaulting his former girlfriend.

Carr, a 5-foot-6 point guard, committed to Seton Hall last year over offers from Connecticut, Texas, South Florida and Memphis.
