The NCAA has expanded the field of the NCAA Tournament to 68 teams starting in 2011. Over the past few seasons, 65 teams have qualified for the tourney.

Two of the games will match the four worst seeds from the automatic bids and the other two games will feature the last four teams to receive an at-large bid.

"We felt there was an opportunity to do something a little bit different," said Dan Guerrero, the committee's chairman. "The hybrid-plus or hybrid-hybrid model, or whatever you want to call it, really takes the input from all the constituents out there."
