Jalen Brunson Commits To Villanova

Sep 11, 2014 10:55 AM

Jalen Brunson ended his recruiting on Wednesday when he committed to Villanova over Illinois.

Brunson is a left-handed, pass-first lead guard that excels at running his team and can also score as needed. He can attack the lane and deliver the ball in drive, draw-and-kick, or drop-off situations.

Brunson is ranked No. 22 by ESPN for the class of 2015.

Brunson gives coach Jay Wright not only a five-star floor general, but the best senior in the state of Illinois who was also named the 2014 Illinois Gatorade Player of the Year as a junior.

"Coach Wright is a genuine guy," Brunson said. "What he says is what he is going to do. He will push me and make me work for my time."

Antonio Blakeney Commits To Louisville

Sep 5, 2014 10:13 PM

Antonio Blakeney committed to Louisville on Thursday as a member of the 2015 class.

Blakeney is rated as a five-star prospect by every major scouting service and is the No. 16 player in the ESPN 100. He chose the Cardinals over Kentucky, LSU, and Missouri.

Jeff Borzello of CBS Sports spoke of his ability: "The 6-foot-4 Oak Ridge (Fla.) product is one of the best scoring guards in the senior class, capable of getting his own shot against any defender and getting points in a variety of ways. Blakeney can go off the bounce or knock down shots from the perimeter, and his mid-range and baseline jumpers are also effective. He is also a terrific athlete and produces highlight-reel dunks in transition. Blakeney averaged 19.5 points on the Nike EYBL circuit playing for Each 1 Teach 1, shooting 44 percent from the field."

Blakeney joins Donovan Mitchell, Deng Adel, and Raymond Spalding in Louisville's 2015 recruiting class.

Oregon State Adds Three 2015 Commitments

Sep 2, 2014 7:02 PM

Oregon State added three basketball commitments on Tuesday in Tres Tinkle, Stephen Thompson Jr. and Derrick Bruce.

Tinkle, a 6-foot-7 small forward, is ranked as the No. 45 prospect in the ESPN 100 and the top player in the state of Montana. He's the son of recently hired head coach, Wayne Tinkle.

Thompson Jr. is a 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Southern California. He is rated as the No. 55 prospect in the ESPN 100 and the fourth best player in California. His dad is also on staff as an assistant coach.

Bruce is the lone Tuesday commit without a dad on the coaching staff. He's a three-star point guard from Elev8 Basketball Academy in Florida.

The recent commits join three-star big man Drew Eubanks in the 2015 class, who committed to Oregon State last week. He is rated as the top prospect in Oregon by ESPN.

Oregon State has not reached the NCAA Tournament since 1990, but the 2015 recruiting class could help rebuild the program.
