The Bulls dominated the Wizards on Monday in Washington, producing a 105-77 victory.
Chicago has now won seven of their last eight games and the frontcourt is adapting to Joakim Noah's return from injury.
“Every second we’re out there together we’re getting better and better," said Carlos Boozer. "We talk the game throughout the course of the game. We’re able to talk to each other in a way that helps us get better while we’re on the job. If we make a mistake one time down, the next time down it’s corrected already. Every game we’re getting a little bit better. It’s fun.”
Troy Murphy was scheduled for separate phone calls on Monday with Pat Riley and Danny Ainge.
Both the Heat and Celtics are attempting to sign Murphy.
Sources indicate Murphy is "still torn" in trying to choose between the two teams.
Jose Calderon has been urged by Jay Triano to be more aggressive with his scoring.
In Sunday's loss to Dallas, Calderon had 15 points on seven shots to go with eight assists and eight rebounds.
“And he can do even more,” Triano said after team practice Monday. “I think there were a couple clips where he came off the screen in the second half and looked to be a passer. I’ve always said that you come off screens you can be a scorer. And if they take that away then you can be a passer.
“I just think sometimes he gets predictable with him coming off screens wanting to make plays rather than to play basketball.”
Calederon is averaging 9.6 points per game.
“Sometimes, the defense plays better defense, they double team me,” Calderon said. “If I got two guys with me, somebody’s open. So why am I going to shoot the ball? I just try to pass the ball to the open guy.”
Triano believes Calderon is more effective when he looks for his own offense.
“We want him to be aggressive and assertive and I thought he was in the first half [against Dallas, when he hit five of six shots],” Triano said. “In the second half, I didn’t think he was as much.
“Especially when we have guys out of the lineup, he’s got to look to pick up some of the slack scoring-wise.”
After reviewing the play, the NBA has determined that Dwight Howard's 15th technical foul will stand as called. If Dwight garners a 16th technical during the regular season that is not rescinded, he will be suspended for one game, with further suspensions coming on every second technical thereafter.
The foul in question occurred with 5:01 left in the second quarter of Orlando's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Howard already has received a total of $45,000 in fines for his 15 technicals, and each additional technical would earn him a $5,000 fine.
While far from a certainty, the Nets and Dan Gadzuric have been negotiating a buyout.
Gadzuric played nine minutes for the Nets in their game against the Rockets on Saturday and was inactive on Wednesday. He is also questionable to make the team flight to England, according to ESPN's Chad Sheridan.
One source put the chances of a successful buyout at "less than 50 percent."
Gadzuric is earning $7.5 million in the final season of a six-year contract.
The Knicks have waived Kelenna Azubuike.
Azubuike was acquired in an offseason trade where Golden State acquired David Lee.

Antawn Jamison sustained a fracture of his left little finger during Sunday's loss to Philadelphia.

Washington Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld announced today that the team has signed guard Mustafa Shakur.
