Tarik Black Signs Partially Guaranteed Deal With Rockets

The Houston Rockets signed Tarik Black to a two-year, partially guaranteed contract, a league source told RealGM.

The Rockets announced the signing on Wednesday afternoon.

Black, a 6-foot-8 forward, played 13 games for Houston in the July summer league.

After three seasons at Memphis, Black transferred to the University of Kansas where he averaged 5.5 points and 3.9 rebounds per game as a senior. He went undrafted in June.

Shannon Brown Signs One-Year Deal With Heat

The Miami Heat have signed guard Shannon Brown.

Brown signed a one-year contract.

Brown, an eight-year NBA veteran, has appeared in 403 career NBA regular season games (58 starts) and averaged 7.7 points, 1.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 18.0 minutes while shooting 42 percent from the field, 33.1 percent from three-point range and 80.7 percent from the foul line. He split the 2013-14 season between the San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks.

Brown won back-to-back NBA Championships with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009 and 2010.

The Heat's roster now stands at 16.

Joel Embiid Signs Rookie Deal With 76ers

Joel Embiid signed his rookie scale contract with the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday.

"Officially signed my NBA contract today... I'm BLESSED!!!! The American Dream "Coming to America," Embiid posted on his verified Twitter account.

Embiid was the third pick in June's NBA draft and could miss the 2014-15 season.

Jazz Sign Brock Motum

The Utah Jazz have signed free-agent forward Brock Motum.

Motum (6-10, 245, Washington State) spent the 2013-14 season with Granarolo Bologna of the Italian SerieA League, averaging 8.3 points and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 50.6 percent from the field.  

Motum participated in the 2014 NBA Summer League with the Jazz in Las Vegas, where he appeared in five games and averaged 8.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists per contest.

Jordan Clarkson Signs With Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers have signed Jordan Clarkson, the 46th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, whose rights were acquired from the Washington Wizards on draft night.

In the 2014 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, Clarkson led the Lakers’ entry in scoring, (15.8 points per game) and rebounding (5.0) while shooting 42.1% (8-19) from beyond-the-arc in five games (all starts).

Jazz Sign Dee Bost

The Utah Jazz have signed free-agent guard Dee Bost.

Bost (6-2, 176, Mississippi State) played for the Idaho Stampede last season, averaging 15.2 points, a team-high 8.4 assists, 6.1 rebounds and team-leading 2.1 steals in 40.5 minutes in 50 games (all starts).

The 24-year-old guard attended training camp with the Portland Trail Blazers prior to the 2013-14 season.

He played four seasons at Mississippi State, averaging 15.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.0 steals in 36.3 minutes during his senior campaign and was named to the 2012 All-SEC First Team.

Cavaliers Sign Alex Kirk To Multi-Year Deal

The Cleveland Cavaliers signed rookie seven-footer Alex Kirk to a partially guaranteed, multi-year contract, league sources told RealGM.

The Cavaliers announced the signing on Monday afternoon.

Kirk averaged 5.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 52.4 percent field-goal shooting for the Cavaliers’ summer league team in July.

Kirk went undrafted out of New Mexico, averaging 13.2 points and 8.7 rebounds in his junior season when he forged a shot-blocking role with 2.7 blocks per game.

Spurs Sign JaMychal Green To Two-Year, Partially Guaranteed Deal

JaMychal Green signed a two-year, partially guaranteed contract with the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday, a league source told RealGM.

The Spurs announced the signing of Green in a press release Wednesday afternoon.

Green, a 6-foot-9 forward who went undrafted in 2012, played for the Spurs’ summer league entry in Las Vegas this year. In six games, Green averaged 7.8 points and 6.5 rebounds while shooting 44.2 percent from the floor.

Green was part of the Spurs’ organization in 2012, when the team signed him to an undrafted free-agent deal after his participation in summer league. He also played for the Spurs’ Development League affiliate in Austin.

Green, a four-year player at the University of Alabama, played last season in the French Pro A League for Roanne, averaging 11.8 points and 6.6 rebounds in 22.1 minutes in 25 games while shooting .530 (122-230) from the field.

Aaron Craft Signs One-Year, Partially Guaranteed Deal With Warriors

Aaron Craft signed a one-year, partially-guaranteed contract with the Warriors on Wednesday after playing for their NBA Summer League team, according to his agent.

Craft averaged 7.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 2.4 assists in five summer league games for the Warriors last month, earning high praise from coach Steve Kerr, a longtime admirer.

Craft played his college basketball at Ohio State.

Cavaliers Officially Sign Mike Miller, James Jones

The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed Mike Miller (guard/forward) and James Jones (guard).

Miller, a 14-year veteran, has played in 913 career games (553 starts) with averages of 11.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 29.1 minutes for Orlando, Memphis, Minnesota, Washington and Miami.

Jones has played in 556 career games (89 starts) with averages of 5.7 points and 2.0 rebounds in 17.2 minutes for Indiana, Phoenix, Portland and Miami during his 11-year career.
