Warriors Pick Up Options On Barnes, Ezeli; Decline On Nedovic

The Golden State Warriors have exercised their fourth-year rookie options on Harrison Barnes and Festus Ezeli.

The Warriors have also declined their third-year option on Nemanja Nedovic. RealGM reported on Wednesday that the Warriors were strongly leaning toward declining Nedovic's option.

Horents Exercise Rookie Options On Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Cody Zeller

The Charlotte Hornets have exercised their fourth-year option on forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and its third-year option on forward Cody Zeller.

“We are excited to keep both of these young talents as part of our core for another season,” Rich Cho said in a statement.  “We have been very pleased with their improvement and look forward to seeing them continue to grow alongside the great group of guys we have in our locker room.” 

The second overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, Kidd-Gilchrist has played in 140 career games over two seasons in Charlotte, averaging 8.2 points and 5.6 rebounds in 25.2 minutes.

The fourth overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, Zeller played in all 82 games of his rookie season, averaging 6.0 points and 4.3 rebounds in 17.3 minutes, earning Second Team All-Rookie honors.

The Chicago Bulls have exercised the third-year option for the 2015-16 season for guard Tony Snell. 

By exercising Snell’s option, he will be under contract with the Bulls for the 2015-16 season. 

Snell (6-7, 200), appeared in 77 games (12 starts) during his rookie campaign and posted averages of 4.5 ppg and 1.6 rpg in 16.0 mpg.

Earl Clark Claimed By Rockets Off Waivers

The Houston Rockets have claimed forward Earl Clark off waivers.

Clark (6-10, 234, Louisville), a sixth year forward appeared in 54 games during the 2013-14 season with Cleveland (45 games) and New York (nine games) averaging 4.8 points and 2.6 rebounds in 14.2 minutes.

Clark was waived by the Memphis Grizzlies during this training camp.

Rivers was the 10th overall pick to the Pelicans in the 2012 NBA Draft.

Thunder Exercise Rookie Options On Adams, Roberson, Jones, Lamb

The Oklahoma City Thunder exercised their third-year options on Steven Adams and Andre Roberson in addition to its fourth-year options on Perry Jones and Jeremy Lamb, the team announced Wednesday.

During his rookie season with Oklahoma City, Adams appeared in 81 games (20 starts) and averaged 3.3 points, 4.1 rebounds (ninth among NBA Rookies) and 14.8 minutes while being named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team.

In one season with the Thunder, Roberson appeared in 40 games (16 starts) and averaged 1.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in 10.0 minutes per game.

Over two seasons with Oklahoma City, Jones has appeared in 100 games (eight starts) and averaged 3.0 points and 1.8 rebounds in 10.4 minutes per game.

In two seasons with the Thunder, Lamb has appeared in 101 games and averaged 7.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 16.7 minutes per game.

Timberwolves Exercise Third-Year Options On Bennett, Dieng, Muhammad

The Minnesota Timberwolves exercised the third-year options on forward Anthony Bennett, center Gorgui Dieng and forward Shabazz Muhammad on Sunday.

Bennett, obtained in a trade from Cleveland on Aug. 23, saw action in 52 games for the Cavaliers in 2013-14, averaging 4.2 points and 3.0 rebounds in 12.8 minutes per game.

Dieng saw action in 60 games last season, including 33 of the final 35; he averaged 4.8 points and 5.0 rebounds in 13.6 minutes per game
 
Muhammad finished his rookie NBA season by appearing in 37 games for the Wolves, all off the bench, and averaged 3.9 points and 1.4 rebounds in 7.8 minutes per game

The Sacramento Kings have picked up the 2015-16 option on guard Ben McLemore’s contract.

Entering his second NBA campaign, the 6-5 guard averaged 8.8 points (.376 FG%, .320 3pt%, .804 FT%), 2.9 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 26.7 minutes per contest as a rookie last season.

Pelicans Hire, Promote Seven In Basketball Ops

The New Orleans Pelicans announced the hiring and promotion of several members of the team’s basketball operations staff.

Duane Brooks, who brings over two decades of experience in his field, enters his first season as head athletic trainer with the New Orleans after spending the previous 13 seasons as the New Orleans Saints’ assistant athletic trainer. Brooks is responsible for the health care, prevention and rehabilitation of injuries, daily training room operations and maintenance of the team’s medical records.

Jason Sumerlin joins the Pelicans as assistant strength and conditioning coach, where he will assist with the athletic development and training of players. 

Jamelle McMillan has been elevated to player development coach after serving as a coaching intern for the Pelicans the past two seasons. 

Terrance “Doc” Martin adds the role of player development coach to his director of player programs title, which he’s held the past two seasons. Martin served as a scout for the Pelicans from 2010-12 after spending the three previous years in Portland as a collegiate scout for the Trail Blazers.  

Michael Ruffin enters his first season with the Pelicans as player development coach.

Matt Whinrey has been promoted to head video coordinator after serving as the team’s assistant video coordinator last season. Prior to joining the Pelicans, Whinrey was an NBA regional scout and basketball operations assistant for the Cleveland Cavaliers. 

Bryson Graham has been promoted to scouting coordinator after spending the last two seasons as the Pelicans video coordinator. Graham previously served as the team’s player development director/basketball operations associate in 2011-12 and was a front office intern in 2010-11.
