Oct 9, 2015 1:27 AM

Trevor Booker has been suspended one game by the NBA for taking a swing at Roy Hibbert in a preseason game.

Booker will serve the suspension in the Jazz’s season-opening game against the Detroit Pistons on Oct. 28.

Booker spoke with the NBA on Wednesday about the incident, a source said.

Hibbert stormed into Booker’s personal space after Booker fouled a Lakers teammate in Tuesday night’s game and got chest to chest with him.

Trevor Booker Takes Open-Handed Swing At Hibbert

Trevor Booker was ejected from Tuesday's preseason game after swinging at Roy Hibbert.

Hibbert approached Booker during a stop in play at the 7:14 mark of the third quarter, and the players got in each other's faces before Booker took an open-handed swing at Hibbert.

Hibbert was held back his teammates to avoid a further escalation.

"That's what normally happens, but I'm happy to have teammates that will have my back," Hibbert said.
