Gallinari Dealing With Pain In Wrist

Oct 30, 2010 4:23 PM

Danilo Gallinari has admitted to feeling some discomfort in his shooting wrist.

However, Gallinari doesn't think the issue is the reason he shot just 3-for-9 from the field against the Raptors on opening night.

"I don't think it was not going in, it wasn't going in 100 percent," said Gallinari. "It was going in a little bit. I just think we won the game and I was happy with that. I felt good because we won. We won the game. That's all that matters. I'm not worried about it, especially when we win."

He went on to score just two points on 0-for-6 shooting against the Celtics on Friday night.

"I feel a little bit of pain," Gallinari said. "I don't want to say it effects anything but I feel discomfort. I just have to play with it."

Stephen Curry Re-Injures Ankle

Oct 30, 2010 10:11 AM

Stephen Curry re-injured his right ankle in the third quarter of the team's win over the Clippers on Friday night.

Curry left the game and did not return. He originally hurt the ankle in the preseason.

"It's more rehab; that's all that means," Curry said.

"Just got to be smart about it now and try to get it back to 100 percent and get it stronger so that even if I do step on somebody's foot I can recover. We'll find out tomorrow and see how it reacts."

The Nets are hoping to have forward Troy Murphy on the court by next week.

New Jersey acquired Murphy from Indiana in a four-team trade this summer.

Murphy practiced on Thursday and did four-on-four full court scrimmaging afterward. He is recovering from back and groin injuries.

"His next full practice is probably going to be Monday (or) Tuesday of next week and we'll see where he is after that," coach Avery Johnson said.

Kenyon Martin Listening To Doctor, Not Karl On Return

Oct 28, 2010 9:55 AM

George Karl expects Kenyon Martin to return from injury by January 1st, but the veteran power forward prefers the advice of his doctor.

"George is not my doctor,'' Martin said Wednesday. "George is not a doctor. George is a great basketball coach. George is not my doctor ... The only person who knows when I'm coming back is Dr. (Richard) Steadman.''

Martin wouldn't speculate on a date he could return but he did offer a clue about when he expects to know more. Martin said he has an appointment scheduled shortly after Thanksgiving, which is Nov. 25, with Steadman, a Vail, Colo., specialist who operated on his torn left patella.

"Not at all until I see him,'' Martin said of a timetable being known. "That's up to (Steadman), man. I don't have a brain when it comes to it. I use his brain.''

Martin is seeking a contract extension.

Wolves Seek Investigation Of Portland's Decision To Trade Webster

Oct 28, 2010 9:42 AM

The Wolves have asked the NBA to investigate whether Portland knew the seriousness of Martell Webster's injury before they traded him on draft night.

Webster underwent surgery to repair a disk in his back and is expected to miss about six weeks. He said the injury dates to last spring's playoffs, when he was undercut and fell hard in a game against Phoenix.

The Wolves are likely looking for a draft pick as compensation.

Boozer broke his right pinkie on Oct. 2 after falling over a bag in his house.

"I get the cast off next Tuesday," Boozer said.

"And then they have to take the pins out. They'll put like a soft cast on for a few days, and then I'll start my rehab and I'll be back out there."

Boozer signed a five-year deal with the Bulls this summer.
