Kidd's MRI Shows No Damage To Back

Nov 30, 2012 5:57 PM

Jason Kidd revealed on Friday that he underwent an MRI on his injured back, which didn't show anything significant.

Kidd will miss his third straight game with back spasms on Friday and is likely to sit on Sunday as well.

"I hope so," Kidd said. “That’s the plan - to get me back out there sometime next week. I feel great. A lot better as the week’s gone on. That’s the goal is to be 100 percent when you come back. No need to rush. Today was a great day working out. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow."

Kidd hopes to be ready to return for the start of the Knicks' three-game road trip on Wednesday.

Billups' Return Was Delayed By Calf Injury, Tweaked Back

Nov 29, 2012 10:49 AM

Chauncey Billups played in his first game since Feb. 6, scoring seven points in 19 minutes for the Los Angeles Clippers.

Vinny Del Negro said Billups would have returned "about three weeks ago," but he suffered a calf injury and then tweaked his back during a practice session.

"He's not in game condition yet, and he's not supposed to be yet," Del Negro said. "But the minutes he's going to play I think he'll be able to handle and if he can't, then he'll tell me."

Henderson Cleared To Resume Running, Jumping

Nov 29, 2012 1:50 AM

Gerald Henderson has been cleared to run and jump on his sprained left foot, but it remains unclear when he will be back in the Charlotte Bobcats' lineup.

Henderson has missed 12 games since his Nov. 3 injury.

“It’s almost there,” Henderson said at the Wednesday-morning shootaround before the Bobcats played the Atlanta Hawks. “I haven’t done a lot of contact yet; that’s what I’m waiting on now. There’s still a level of soreness in there.”

Love Loses Padded Glove, Finishes With 23 Points, 24 Rebounds

Nov 28, 2012 11:40 AM

Kevin Love played without a padded glove on Tuesday and responded with 23 points and 24 rebounds in 44 minutes.

"Yeah, he did, he did look like it," Rick Adelman said when asked if he looked like the real Kevin Love again. "That was one of the more complete games he has played. He let the game come to him. He passed the ball. He set screens. He made shots. He rebounded it. It was just a complete all-around game. He told me he felt good all along, and we sure needed it."

Love is returning from a broken right hand.

Bogut Frustrated With Warriors' Estimates On Return

Nov 28, 2012 11:13 AM

Andrew Bogut is not ready to return from his rehabilitation of a left ankle injury and is getting frustrated by the Golden State Warriors' public optimism.

"It's frustrating," said Bogut, who addressed the media Tuesday after missing consecutive practices in which the team had said he was likely to participate. "People look at you and think, 'Why are you still hurting? It's just an ankle.' That's the feeling I get sometimes. ... You feel like you're letting down the team, the fans and the organization."

Bogut had microfracture surgery in April, a more serious procedure than the Warriors' claim he had minor arthroscopic surgery.

The Warriors have continually raised expectations of when Bogut would be ready to play, whether it was for the Olympics, the start of training camp or beginning the regular season playing 20 minutes per game.

"That's not going to happen. I can tell you that right now," Bogut said. "I'm still a little ways off. It's an interesting rehab, because there's no real timeline for it. I'll be back when I'm ready to play at 100 percent."

"We're not pressuring him," head coach Mark Jackson said. "I want him back when he's healthy. We're going to hold down the fort and take care of business. We're more than capable of going out and taking care of the job. We don't want him on the floor until he's 100 percent. You get uncomfortable and more frustrated when you try to rush it back."

Billups To Practice, No Timetable For Retun

Nov 27, 2012 12:16 PM

The Los Angeles Clippers still don't have a timetable for when Chauncey Billups will be ready to return from his left Achilles' tendon injury.

Vinny Del Negro said Billups will practice on Tuesday.

"Even when he comes back, whenever that is, we'll manage his minutes and see how he feels," Del Negro said. "But Chauncey knows his body better than anybody."
