Lin Out For Remainder Of Regular Season

Mar 31, 2012 8:30 PM

Jeremy Lin will miss the remainder of the regular season due to a small meniscal tear in his left knee that will require surgery.

Lin will have surgery within the next few days and is expected to miss six weeks.

“It is a big blow,” said Mike Woodson. “He was starting to come as a player.”

Lin and team officials had hoped to delay surgery until after the season, but the knee did not sufficiently respond to treatment over the course of the week.

“I can’t really do much, can’t really cut or jump,” Lin said at a news conference. “So it’s pretty clear that I won’t be able to help the team unless I get this fixed right now. It’s disappointing for me. It’s hard to watch the games. And I think I want to be out there, obviously, more than anything, to help the team.”

Hamilton Returns To Lineup

Mar 30, 2012 8:57 PM

Richard Hamilton has missed 36 of Chicago's 52 games this season, but returned to the lineup on Friday against Detroit.

“He has done a great job with his rehab,” Tom Thibodeau said. “His lower body is completely healthy. He is moving great, which is critical for anybody, for his shooting and defense. And he has worked hard with his shoulder. We just have to be patient. When he’s completely healthy, he goes.”

Ray Allen May Return Friday

Mar 28, 2012 8:33 PM

The Celtics were without Ray Allen for the fourth consecutive game on Wednesday as they hosted the Jazz.

Allen has not played since March 22 against the Bucks when he sustained a right ankle injury.

Doc Rivers initially said that Allen was doing “great,” but then announced that he wouldn’t be in the lineup.

“He’s not doing great enough to play,” Rivers said. “He went through shootaround and just didn’t feel right. We are hoping for Friday.”

Boston has dealt with a number of injuries this season, which has left Rivers prepared to deal with the absence of Allen.

“I’m not that concerned by it,” said Rivers. “I wouldn’t know anyway, so there is no reason for me to worry about it. We’ve had a lot of [injuries] this year, so he’ll be fine. You just hope it doesn’t become one of those things that linger, where you play a couple of games and then have to sit out a couple. But I don’t see that happening.”

Avery Bradley will continue to start in place of Allen.

Curry has missed the last 10 games due to the injury.

Sources tell Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski that Curry is pushing to return this season.

The Warriors are protecting the long-term health of Curry, while also trying to retain their own first round draft pick that will be sent to the Jazz if it falls out of the top-7.
