Kris Dunn Has Recovered From Summer League Concussion

Aug 12, 2016 10:28 AM

Kris Dunn has recovered from a concussion he sustained during Summer League in July.

“I feel great. I’m back on court. I’m just working to get better for training camp, but I’m definitely back,” said Dunn on Thursday.

Dunn was the fifth overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Dunn was asked about his expectations on whether he'll start or come off the bench.

“Just like any other time, when you’re coming from 8th grade to freshman year, you just want to prove yourself and work hard. Same thing when you’re going from high school to college,” Dunn said. “Whatever happens, happens. If I’m a starter or not a starter, I’m going to do whatever the coach needs me to do. I’m just here to learn.”

"What won't change is the culture of this organization. The Miami Heat is a Championship organization. I fully expect this team, from Pat Riley to Head Coach Erik Spoelstra, to our veterans Chris Bosh, Udonis Haslem, Goran Dragic and Josh McRoberts, to our returning young core of Hassan Whiteside, Justise Winslow, Josh Richardson and Tyler Johnson, to the fresh faces joining the Heat Family to continue our mantra of being the 'hardest working, best conditioned, most professional, unselfish, toughest, meanest, nastiest team in the NBA.' Delon Wright Undergoes Shoulder Surgery, Out Four Months

Aug 1, 2016 1:06 PM

The Toronto Raptors announced Monday guard Delon Wright underwent arthroscopic shoulder stabilization to fix a labral tear in his right shoulder. The procedure was performed by Dr. Riley Williams at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Wright is expected to be sidelined a minimum of four months.

Wright sustained the injury July 16 in the fourth quarter of a Las Vegas Summer League game versus Minnesota. X-rays taken on-site at Thomas & Mack Center were negative for a fracture and his dislocated shoulder was put back in place. Additional testing revealed a torn labrum.

Wright, the 20th overall pick by the Raptors in the first round of the 2015 NBA Draft, averaged 3.8 points, 1.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 8.5 minutes in 27 appearances last season. He had a season-best 19 points in 26 minutes in an April 8 victory versus Indiana. Wright also appeared in 15 games with Toronto’s D-League affiliate, Raptors 905, where he averaged 17.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 35.7 minutes.
