The Denver Nuggets have waived Kostas Papanikolaou for the second time in three months.

The Nuggets released Papanikolaou to avoid guaranteeing the balance of his contract for the season. 

Papanikolaou was acquired by Denver as part of the trade that sent Ty Lawson to Houston and was waived for the first time Sept. 25. The Nuggets re-signed him Nov. 5.

The Phoenix Suns have waived Cory Jefferson and Bryce Cotton.

Jefferson and Cotton had non-guaranteed deals.

The Suns are open to re-signing Jefferson and Cotton on 10-day deals.

The Utah Jazz have waived Elijah Millsap before his contract guarantee date.

Millsap was informed of his release Tuesday. The Jazz faced a Thursday deadline to decide whether to guarantee the contract of Millsap, who signed a three-year deal during the 2014-15 season.

Millsap, 28, averaged 4.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and nearly one steal in 67 games with the Jazz spanning the past two seasons. 

The Philadelphia 76ers will release Christian Wood to create a roster spot for Elton Brand.

Wood went undrafted out of UNLV in 2015.

Wood made 14 appearances for the 76ers and nine in the D-League with the 87ers. In the D-League, Wood has a PER of 20.1.
