The Cleveland Cavaliers have waived Dahntay Jones.

Jones was signed by the Cavaliers on April 13, 2016, He appeared in one regular season game and 15 postseason games this past season.

The L.A. Clippers have waived Branden Dawson.

Dawson, 23, was selected with the 56th overall pick of the 2015 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Pelicans and acquired by the Clippers in a draft night trade in exchange for cash considerations.

Dawson appeared in six games with the Clippers in 2015-16, averaging 0.8 points and 0.7 rebounds in 4.8 minutes.

Dawson was arrested in March on a domestic violence charge but was not charged.

The Los Angeles Clippers have waived forward Devyn Marble.

Marble was acquired in a trade earlier in the day from the Orlando Magic along with a 2020 second round pick in exchange for guard CJ Wilcox.

Selected with the 56th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, Marble averaged 2.1 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.4 assists last season with Orlando. In 44 games played (seven starts) Marble holds career averages of 2.2 points, 1.6 rebounds and 0.7 assists in 10.4 minutes in two years in the NBA.

The Sacramento Kings have claimed Lamar Patterson off waivers.

Patterson was waived by the Atlanta Hawks this week to create an available roster spot.

The New Orleans Pelicans have waived Toney Douglas.

Douglas' contract was set to become guaranteed.

Douglas, 6-2, 185, appeared in 61 games (18 starts) for the Pelicans during the 2015-16 season, holding averages of 8.7 points, 2.6 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals. Originally signed by New Orleans on February 4, 2015, Douglas appeared in 73 total games for the Pelicans, averaging 8.0 points, 2.5 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 19.7 minutes per contest.

Originally drafted 29th overall out of Florida State University in 2009 by the Los Angeles Lakers, Douglas has appeared in 370 career regular season games with New York, Houston, Sacramento, Golden State, Miami and New Orleans, averaging 7.8 points, 2.3 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game.

The Atlanta Hawks have waived Lamar Patterson.

Patterson had a non-guaranteed contract and the roster move allows the Hawks to complete the signings of Dwight Howard and Kris Humphries. 

Patterson has been playing for the Hawks in Summer League.

There is a good chance that another NBA team claims Patterson, who had an $874,636 contract for next season. 

The San Antonio Spurs waived Tim Duncan upon the announcement of his retirement.

Before the start of free agency, Duncan exercised his player option with the Spurs for $5.6 million. Duncan had not yet decided at that point whether he was going to retire.

The Spurs needed to clear a portion of Duncan's salary to create cap space for their free agent moves. 

The Dallas Mavericks have waived JaVale McGee.

McGee (7-0, 270) averaged 5.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 0.8 blocks and 10.9 minutes in 34 games after signing with Dallas on August 13, 2015.

The Chicago Bulls have waived Spencer Dinwiddie.

Dinwiddie was traded by the Detroit Pistons to the Bulls in June.

Chicago also had Rajon Rondo and Jerian Grant ahead of him at point guard.

The Washington Wizards will release Drew Gooden to create enough cap space to fit in their free agent signings.

Gooden was owed $2.9 million for the 16-17 season.

Gooden joined the Wizards in 2014 beginning with successive 10-day contracts.
