D.J. Stephens Named D-League Player Of The Week

D.J. Stephens of the Iowa Energy has been named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Monday, March 21 through Sunday, March 27. It’s the first Performer of the Week honor of his career.

Stephens (6-5, 188, Memphis) led Iowa to a 3-0 week, averaging 24.7 points (sixth in the league) on 61.4 percent shooting to go with 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 blocks (tied for fifth), 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals. He connected on 11-of-18 three-point attempts (61.1 percent – eighth in the league).

On March 24, he recorded 26 points on 11-for-15 shooting, including 4-of-6 from behind the arc, to go with nine rebounds, two steals and one block in a 108-105 victory over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. On March 26, he scored a season-high 29 points on 10-of-13 shooting to go with seven rebounds, three blocks, two assists and one steal in a 122-104 win over Fort Wayne.

Terrico White Named D-League Player Of The Week

Terrico White of the Bakersfield Jam has been named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Monday, March 14 through Sunday, March 20. It’s the second Performer of the Week award for White this season.

White (6-5, 213, Mississippi) helped Bakersfield to a 2-1 week, averaging 29.7 points (tied for fourth) on 62.1 percent shooting to go with 7.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.7 steals. He connected on 10-of-22 three-point attempts.

On March 17, he recorded 30 points, seven rebounds and seven assists while connecting on 5-of-8 attempts from behind the arc in a 107-105 win over the Texas Legends. On March 20, he scored 25 points to go with nine rebounds, three steals and two assists in a 103-73 victory over the Austin Spurs. The back-to-back victories helped keep Bakersfield in the playoff hunt, trailing the Rio Grande Valley Vipers by three games for the second wildcard spot in the Western Conference.

Tim Frazier of the Maine Red Claws has been named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Monday, March 7 through Sunday, March 13.

It’s the second straight week Frazier has received the award and the fifth of his career.

Frazier (6-1, 170, Penn State) helped Maine to a 3-0 week averaging 12.7 points on 60.0 percent shooting to go with 9.7 assists (second in the league), 7.3 rebounds and 1.0 steal.

On March 10, he recorded 16 points and connected on four-of-six attempts from behind the arc to go with 10 rebounds, five assists and two blocks in a 111-95 win over the Erie BayHawks. On March 13, he tallied 12 points, 14 assists, seven rebounds and three steals in a 129-123 victory over the Grand Rapids Drive to lock up a playoff berth for the second consecutive season.

Tim Frazier of the Maine Red Claws has been named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Monday, Feb. 29 through Sunday, March 6.

This is the fourth time Frazier has staked claim to the honors (three-time winner last season).

Frazier (6-1, 170, Penn State) helped Maine to a 3-0 week averaging 14.0 points on 48.4 percent shooting to go with 10.7 rebounds, 9.3 assists (second in the league) and 2.0 steals.

On March 3, he compiled season highs with 13 assists and four steals in a 115-101 victory over the Iowa Energy. On March 6, he recorded 18 points on 8-for-9 shooting to go with 11 rebounds and nine rebounds in a 126-88 win over the Westchester Knicks, keeping Maine atop the Atlantic Division with a two-game lead over Westchester.

Last year’s NBA D-League MVP returned to Maine after starting the season with the Portland Trail Blazers. Through five games, Frazier is averaging 16.4 points on 53.7 percent shooting to go with 10.2 rebounds, 9.2 assists and 1.6 steals.

Vander Blue Named D-League Player Of The Month

Vander Blue of the Los Angeles D-Fenders has been named NBA Development League Player of the Month for games played in February. 

Blue (6-4, 200, Marquette) sparked Los Angeles to a 7-2 month, averaging 30.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.8 steals. He shot 47.3 percent from the field (86-for-182) and connected on 36.2 percent of his three-point attempts (17-of-47).

Blue scored at least 20 points in every game and was named Performer of the Week for games played from Feb. 15-21. On Feb. 6, he registered 39 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals in a 126-112 win over the Santa Cruz Warriors. On Feb. 27, he tallied 35 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals in a 117-107 victory over the Idaho Stampede. His 16 made free throws tied a season high for most in a game this season.

Blue is in his third NBA D-League season and has played for the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers over the past three seasons. He’s averaging 26.0 points (fourth in the league), 5.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.0 steals (tied for sixth in the league).
