Illinois Back Under Consideration By Jabari Parker

Aug 28, 2012 10:26 AM

Illinois did not make a July 11th list of 10 schools Jabari Parker was considering, but the school continues to recruit him. Parker's father confirmed that the Illini could still be considered.

BYU, DePaul, Duke, Florida, Georgetown, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan State, North Carolina and Stanford were on Parker's list.

Bruce Weber was replaced as head coach by John Groce following the 11-12 season. Weber and the Parker family developed a relationship over the past few years.

"They're still in touch," Parker's father, Sonny Parker, said of Illinois. "You never know. You never know how things are going to pan out."

Stanford Robinson, a 6-foot-3 guard who committed to Indiana in May, will spend his final season of high school basketball playing at Findlay Prep, a national power based in Las Vegas.

“I just feel like I needed to advance my game,” Robinson said. “And every night I’ll be going against bigger and better players and I think that’ll help me.”

Robinson did not consult with Tom Crean on the decision.

“This decision was really between my mom and my dad and my little brother,” Robinson said. “We made it as a family decision. We didn’t sit down with anybody to get their take on it. We felt like with the connections and politics in basketball, you never know who you can trust nowadays. We just decided to make it a family thing.”
