Kendrick Nunn has committed to John Groce and Illinois over Marquette, Memphis and Ohio State.
Nunn is a 6-foot-2 shooting guard from Simeon High School of Chicago, the same school as Jabari Parker.
Nunn is rated No. 56 in the ESPN 100.
"It means for Illinois now they have secured a commitment from a high-level player not only from the state of Illinois, but the city of Chicago," ESPN recruiting coordinator Reggie Rankin said. "I think that possibly can open doors for future players. I think it's a great fit for Nunn because he'll be terrific in Groce's style of play. He'll be able to attack on the break, slash in the halfcourt and play on and away from ball screens. I think it's just a win-win situation for both of them."
Roy Williams brought a case of 30 rings during his in-home visit on Tuesday with Julius Randle.
When John Calipari recently visited with Randle, he brought his 2012 championship ring.
"When coach Williams opened the case you almost couldn't look directly in it for fear of going blind," Randle joked. "It was crazy."
Williams also brought the 1992 NBA championship ring from Michael Jordan, as he attempts to recruit Randle to North Carolina.
"He said Jordan gave it to him to show his players what they could achieve with hard work and determination," Randle said. "I was just shocked. I couldn't believe I was holding Jordan's ring."
Randle is also considering N.C. State, Duke and Kansas.
Jabari Bird has committed to California, canceling scheduled visits to Washington, Oregon and Colorado.
"I just feel like Cal is the right place for me. I woke up (Tuesday) and felt like it was time to decide," said Bird, who made an official recruiting visit to the campus last weekend. "It was comfortable, like I was at home."
Bird is hoping fellow Bay Area recruits Aaron Gordon and Marcus Lee also join him at Cal.
Bird, Gordon and Lee are all ranked amongst the 20 top recruits in the country.
"I'm definitely trying to get them now. Hopefully, they can be Cal Bears with me," said Bird, joined on the weekend campus trip by Gordon and Lee. "For the most part, both Marcus and Aaron liked the visit a lot. I'm just trying to build on that with them, so I can convince them to come to school with me."
Mike Krzyzewski is beginning a series of in-home visits with 2013 recruits this week.
Krzyzewski will begin with Semi Ojeleye, the No. 22 overall player in the class. Ojeleye is considering Duke, Indiana, Oregon and Stanford.
Krzyzewski will then visit Austin Nichols, followed by Julius Randle and Matt Jones. Jones has already committed to Duke.
Jaron Hopkins has committed to Colorado.
Hopkins is a four-star, 6-4 guard from Mesa, Arizona. Hopkins is the first commit for the Buffaloes from the 2013 class.
"That's the school that's been on me since Day One," Jaron Hopkins said when asked why he chose CU. "They were the first to offer me a scholarship. I really liked the academics and where the program is headed."
Luke Worthington has committed to Brigham Young.
Worthington is a 6-8 power forward out of Wisconsin in the 2013 class.
Damian Jones has committed to Vanderbilt.
Jones plays AAU for the Team Texas Titans and is teammates with Julius Randle and Matt Jones.
Jones is ranked as the No. 108 player in the 2013 class as a 6-foot-9 big.
