Shandong of the Chinese Basketball Association have agreed to sign Jason Thompson to a deal in the range of $1.5 million for one season.

Thompson played for the Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors last season.

Thompson turned 30 this offseason and will now played abroad after 588 games in the NBA.

Tibor Pleiss has agreed to a one-year deal with Galatasaray.

Pleiss will replace Nenad Krstic, who is on the verge of a medical retirement.

Pleiss had received an invite to join the Brooklyn Nets for training camp.

Pau Gasol signed with the San Antonio Spurs this offseason on a two-year, $30 million deal. Gasol also considered signing with the Spurs in 2014 but instead chose the Chicago Bulls.

“Two years ago I declined the option of going to the Spurs," said Gasol. "Now it was the right time to go to San Antonio. (Gregg) Popovich has he told me that I will contribute a lot and along with LaMarcus Aldridge, without Tim Duncan any more, I will be one of the leaders of the team in the front line.”

Gasol also said the odds of him finishing his career with Barcelona have been reduced as he continues his NBA career into his late 30s.

“While still playing in the NBA, my chances of returning to FC Barcelona are reduced," said Gasol. "It’s a nice idea, but becoming less and less possible. My hope of playing for the national team remains the same, evaluating it year by year and analyzing how my body adapts to the workload.”

DeJuan Blair has agreed to sign with Jiangsu Tongxi of China.

Blair spent the past two seasons with the Washington Wizards and was released in February by the Phoenix Suns following his trade to the team.

Blair averaged fewer than 10 minutes per game each of the past two seasons.

The Houston Rockets met face-to-face with Zhou Qi for the first time.

Zhou played for the Xinjiang Flying Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association last season, averaged 15.1 points and 8.6 rebounds. He led the CBA in blocks the last two seasons. Zhou also participated in the Olympics for China.

Zhou doesn't have an out clause in his contract with the Flying Tigers to join the NBA this season.

The Rockets picked Zhou in the second round of the 2016 NBA Draft.
