Nov 30, 2011 8:59 PM

Canadian-born Anthony Bennett continues to consider various colleges and isn't expected to make a decision until the spring.

Bennett recently visited Kentucky and continues to consider UNLV, Florida, Washington, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Connecticut and Oregon.

“All [the] schools in my top nine are all calling me, but right now I’m just answering a few calls [and] just trying to stay focused in school,” said Bennett of how his recruitment is going. “Like I said before [I have] no favorites. I feel like all the schools are putting a lot of time and effort trying to recruit me to come to their school.”

Duke Could Struggle Without Big Wing, High End Point Guard

Nov 30, 2011 11:57 AM

Duke doesn't have an elite point guard or a big wing on their roster, deficiencies that showed in their 22-point loss to Ohio State on Tuesday.

The one player in college basketball that would make the biggest difference for Duke is likely Harrison Barnes, who is a scoring wing who can also defend.

Mike Krzyzewski nearly landed Barnes, but he eventually chose North Carolina.

Virginia's Defense Triggers Offense In Win Over Michigan

Nov 30, 2011 12:25 AM

Virginia defeated No. 14 Michigan by a final score of 70-58.

Virginia limited Michigan to less than one point per possession and dominated the rebounding battle.

"When we play really hard on defense and get stops, that makes our offense run, that makes our offense go," freshman guard Malcolm Brogdon said. "I think we were able to get into a rhythm offensively because of our defense."

Brogdon had 13 of his 16 points in the second half.

Dedmon Out 4-6 Weeks With Stress Injury In Right Foot

Nov 29, 2011 6:38 PM

Dewayne Dedmon has a stress injury in his right foot and is expected to miss four to six weeks.

Dedmon is a sophomore transfer on USC and a candidate for the NBA Draft.

At first, the injury, which was revealed by an MRI on Monday, was deemed a stress fracture.

But team athletic trainer David Borchardt amended that to note that it is a "stress injury" and that Dedmon will be immobilized for one week.

Dedmon suffered a fractured right hand during the preseason.

"I just look at it like, I'll be back," Dedmon said Tuesday. "It's not like it's at the end of the season where I can't finish out the season, but I can hopefully be back before conference."

"It affects us greatly," Kevin O'Neill said. "You can't replace 7-foot, 250 pounds, especially in the situation when we have so many inexperienced guys."
