Brandon Ingram Commits To Duke

Apr 27, 2015 6:12 PM

Brandon Ingram has committed to Duke as a member of the 2015 recruiting class, he announced on Monday.

The 6-foot-8 small forward is ranked as the No. 3 prospect in the ESPN 100. Ingram was one of the top risers late in the recruiting process after excelling at the McDonald's All-American Game and Nike Hoop Summit. He's considered a likely one-and-done prospect due to his length and shooting ability.

A North Carolina native from Kinston High School, Ingram chose the local Blue Devils over Kansas, Kentucky, N.C. State, North Carolina, and UCLA. He becomes the fifth commit for Duke's 2015 recruiting class, joining five-star center Chase Jeter, five-star point guard Derryck Thornton, four-star shooting guard Luke Kennard, and three-star center Antonio Vrankovic.

Thornton now is the third-ranked point guard and 17th overall player in 2015.

"I have been considering reclassifying up for months, so it's been on my mind," Thornton said.

Stephen Zimmerman Commits To UNLV

Apr 17, 2015 12:30 AM

Stephen Zimmerman committed to UNLV as a member of the 2015 class on Thursday night, he announced via Twitter.

The 7-foot center is rated as the No. 10 prospect in the country by ESPN. He was selected as both a McDonald's and Jordan Brand All-American after playing locally at Bishop Gorman High School (NV). Zimmerman is considered the most skilled big man in the class due to his ability to compete inside or step out and knock down the open jumper.

UNLV beat out Arizona, Kansas, Kentucky, and UCLA to keep Zimmerman home. His commitment means head coach Dave Rice has landed a McDonald's All-American in three of the past four years. Zimmerman joins ESPN 100 small forward Derrick Jones and three-star shooting guard Jalen Poyser as members of the 2015 class.

After losing freshman shooting guard Rashad Vaughn to the NBA Draft, the Runnin' Rebels are waiting to see if sophomore big man Christian Wood will declare as well. If not, UNLV will still have plenty of depth inside, with Zimmerman joining shot-blocker Goodluck Okonoboh and Oregon transfer Ben Carter up front.
