Billy Donovan Interested In Meeting With Durant, Westbrook, Ibaka Before Accepting Job

Kevin Durant has reached out to multiple former Florida players about Billy Donovan, according to sources.

Donovan is considered the only serious candidate for the Oklahoma City Thunder head coaching vacancy.

Durant has become generally positive about the potential hiring of Donovan.

Donovan has interest in speaking to Durant, Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka before accepting the job. It is unclear if meetings will be facilitated.

Sam Presti and Donovan have had a relationship for a decade.

Donovan turned down offers from the Cleveland Cavaliers and Minnesota Timberwolves last offseason.

Buddy Hield Returns To Oklahoma For Senior Season

Buddy Hield announced Friday morning that he will return to Oklahoma for his senior season.

Hield was named the Big 12 conference player of the year last season.

"It was a tough decision, and I obviously took it near the deadline," Hield said. "But I just went through the process. I listened to Coach Kruger, I listened to my mentors back home, my high school coach, and my mom and my family. I did a lot of research on players and the history of the NBA Draft. I just did what I felt was best for me and my family. I feel like if I come back I'll be in a better situation next year."

Caris LeVert Returns To Michigan For Senior Season

University of Michigan men's basketball junior guard Caris LeVert will return for the 2015-16 season with the Wolverine basketball program.

"Over the past few months, I have spent a lot of time thinking about my future," said LeVert. "My family and I, along with the coaching staff, gathered as much information as possible. After considering my options, I am excited to announce I will return for my senior year. Coming back allows me to keep working towards my Michigan degree and take the next steps in my development as a player, teammate and a leader of our program.

"Michigan is a very special place and the college experience only comes once. The future is bright and I am blessed to be part of it."

Bobby Hurley To Become Head Coach At Arizona State

Bobby Hurley has agreed to become head coach of Arizona State.

Hurley spent the past two seasons at Buffalo. Hurley is 42-20 in two seasons at Buffalo and won the East Division championship in each year and the conference tournament title in 2015.

Hurley will replace Herb Sendek.

Avery Johnson has agreed to a deal to become the new head coach of Alabama, according to sources.

Johnson has coached the Dallas Mavericks and Brooklyn Nets in the NBA.

Johnson's son, Avery Johnson Jr., is also a point guard in the SEC.

Shaka Smart Leaves VCU For Texas

Shaka Smart has agreed to become the next head coach of the Texas Longhorns.

Smart, who won at least 26 games in each of his six seasons at VCU, had become one of college basketball's most coveted coaches since leading the Rams to the Final Four in 2011.

Smart will replace Rick Barnes.

Terms of Smart's contract were not immediately released. Barnes made $2.62 million last season. Smart made $1.8 million with the Rams.

At VCU, Smart took over a program that had great success under Jeff Capel and then Anthony Grant.
