The current top-five players in the NBA according to RealGM's FIC, Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh, were all on Team USA's 2008 Gold Medal team. How does the rest of the NBA rank?
Monta Ellis is still at least a full month away from his return to the court for the Warriors, but he recently called RealGM with the full story behind his ankle injury.
Just three installments remain in the series, with this chapter housing names like Michael Jordan, Kevin McHale, and Carmelo Anthony. It was incredibly hard to leave off a number of players, and I’m sure after reading you’ll see exactly whom I decided skip over this time around.
Born within six months of each other in opposite corners of the world, two seven footers who are finalists for the Basketball Hall of Fame this fall are two of the best ever to play the center position.

I have a problem. I’ve always complained that Ms. Scoop wasn’t into electronics and video games enough, but now I can’t get her off Rock Band. What do I do?
Stephon Marburysees himself as the starting point guard of the Knicks heading into preseason play this month. It’s hard to believe that Marbury is still in New York, considering all the rumors that ran rampant this summer, but he just might be a better option than Chris Duhon.
Jameer Nelsonsays that he’s ready for a larger role with the Magic this year. If Orlando lacked anything in their second-round matchup against the Pistons, it was point guard play. If Nelson can step it up this season, they’ll be a much tougher out come May.
Hawks' Coach Mike Woodson wants his team to focus on winning this preseason while other clubs might sit their stars and treat the exhibition slate as nothing more than the meaningless games they seem to be. I agree with Woodson, and it certainly worked last year when Atlanta went 7-1 in October.
Ron Artest is excited to be in Houston and says that he’ll play wherever the team needs him on the court. In the past he has preferred different positions, at one time eyeing the point in Indiana, but his “selfish” ways appear to be in the past. If the Rockets can remain healthy, Artest will make them a very tough team in the stacked Western Conference.
The Pirates will not trade center fielder Nate McLouth to the Yankees for second baseman Robinson Cano and claim they won’t deal McLouth for anything but a terrific deal. If I’m the Yankees, I like McLouth and I’m down on Cano, but who would play second?
Cubs' GM Jim Hendry was incredibly impressed with the play of Manny Ramirez in the NLDS and has compared him to Albert Pujols, whom he believes is the best player in baseball. If he likes him so much, maybe the North Siders should make a run at him this winter.
If the Padres decide to trade Jake Peavy, the Red Sox could decide to go after the elite pitcher. If Boston landed Peavy it would be a classic case of the rich getting richer, with Josh Beckett and Jon Lester already taking the mound every fifth day at Fenway.
The wildcat formation was wildly successful for the Dolphins again in Week Five, helping give them their second-straight win. They ran the formation twelve times, and it led to Ronnie Brown’s five-yard touchdown that gave the Dolphins a 17-3 lead. It wasn’t as effective as it was against the Pats in Week Three, but they did average 4.3 yards per carry.
Sarah Palin traded a Rangers' sweater for an Eagles' jersey a few weeks ago before going for a run in Center City, Philadelphia. It was a great P.R. move, and as we’ve come to find out, one that a fan helped her make.
Senators' owner Eugene Melnyk believes that the NHL will expand to Europe at some point, and that it’s only a matter of time. Hockey, along with basketball and football, could probably pull such a business venture off, but traveling will be atrocious.
