The 2008-09 NBA season will tip off at the end of the month, which means fans, radio personalities, magazines, television stars, and websites all over the world are busy prognosticating what will happen this year.
There is still plenty of time for us to predict plenty here at RealGM, but we’ve decided to take a unique approach by teaming up with 2K Sports to simulate the entire NBA calendar.
Some interesting outcomes were generated using NBA 2K9 to run through the upcoming season. For example, Chris Paul wasn’t denied the NBA’s MVP award this time around averaging 20.3 points, 10.7 assists, and 2.5 steals per game en route to top honors.
Both of last season’s Finals participants reached the Conference Finals for the second-straight summer, but only one of them reached the biggest stage in basketball this time around (you’ll have to scroll down to see which).
NBA 2K9 made some pretty bold “predictions”, with Utah’s Morris Almond taking home the Most Improved Player award. Meanwhile, the Jazz were absent from the postseason in the incredibly tough Western Conference.
This year’s rookie class appears to be an outstanding one, with a certain Beach Boy descendant taking home the top honors in the simulation.
I won’t keep you waiting any longer. Here is how our 2K Sports simulation played out.
Author’s Note: These “predictions” were generated 100% by NBA 2K9 (for Xbox 360), and are no way affiliated with the opinions of RealGM.
