Source: Mavericks Also Wanted Boozer

The Mavericks were among the teams interested in trading for Carlos Boozer this offseason, according to ESPN's Chad Ford.

Boozer told a radio station this summer that the team informed him that he wasn't in their long-term plans, spurring trade talk.

Ford added that the Jazz have had discussions with the Bulls, Heat and Pistons about Boozer.

Beaubois Impressive In 'Mavs University'

Mavericks rookie guard Roddy Beaubois has impressed many in workouts, but still has much to learn.

Beaubois, the 25th overall pick in June's NBA Draft, is in his second week of what owner Mark Cuban calls "Mavs University."

The team is very excited about the guard's skill set, but there won't be a lot of playing time to go around in Dallas.

Beaubois will be playing behind Jason Kidd and J.J. Barea.

Don Nelson Prepares To Talk Trade With Dallas

The talk around Dallas suggests Don Nelson is interested in discussing a trade with the Dallas Mavericks involving the disgruntled Stephen Jackson.

Nelson may be interested in dealing the guard for a package of expiring contracts.

Nelson may also be willing to part ways with guard Monta Ellis due to the coach's interest in giving rookie Stephen Curry plenty of playing time.
