Marion Vows To Return On Tuesday

Mavericks forward Shawn Marion will not play against the Kings on Friday night.

Marion sprained his ankle on Monday against the Bucks and sat out Wednesday's contest against the Spurs.

He is optimistic that he'll return for Tuesday's battle with the Warriors.

"Hopefully one more game and I'll be good," Marion said after the Mavs' shootaround on Friday. "It's feeling better, but it still hurts."

Tests Show Dampier's Illness Not Life Or Career Threatening

All concerns about the possibility of a life or career ending illness for Erick Dampier have been cleared, according to a source.

Dampier became ill in pregame warm-ups Sunday against Detroit and was transported to a hospital in Pontiac, Mich.

There remains no timetable for Dampier's return, however.
