Warriors Doubt How Ellis Injured Ankle

The Warriors are in the process of checking the story of how guard Monta Ellis injured his ankle, according to Contra Costa Times.

Monta told the team last Thursday that he had injured his left ankle working out in Jackson, Miss. However, as of Wednesday, not even Chris Mullin knew exactly what happened. "I was told he was working out in Jackson," was all Mullin had to say.

Some team officials are rumored to believe that Ellis injured the ankle while playing pick-up basketball rather than simply working out.

Golden State To Tweak Offense While Monta Is Out?

On the heels of the Monta Ellis injury, Chris Mullin met with Don Nelson on Wednesday and discussed opening up the offense and getting more shots for Stephen Jackson and Corey Maggette, as well as asking Andris Biedrins to possibly take on a bigger role in the offense.

The Warriors are "talking about maybe spreading that ball around and getting scoring from different areas," Mullin said. "Marcus is more of a pass-first point guard (than Ellis). If at some point he thought he didn't get a chance (in New Jersey), he's going to get a chance now."

Warriors Taking A Look At Livingston

The Warriors were scheduled to take a look at free agent point guard Shaun Livingston in Chicago on Thursday, according to a report in Contra Costa Times.

Chris Mullin claims that the workout was scheduled before the Warriors learned that starting point guard Monta Ellis would be out for three months after having knee surgery.

As of right now Marcus Williams will be Golden State's starter, with C.J. Watson the backup.
