Bucks Will Likely Look At Deep PG Crop In Draft

The dream scenario for the Bucks in this year's draft would be to win the lottery and draft Blake Griffin, but realistically they will likely draft 10th and be in the market for a point guard.

Options such as Stephen Curry, Ty Lawson, Stephen Curry, Brandon Jennings, Eric Maynor and Tyreke Evans should be available.

"We'll get someone good there," Hammond said of the No. 10 slot. "We've been around together now for a year, and I think we'll do a better job in this draft. Having Scott Skiles as our coach now for a year, I think he knows more about us, we know more about him even.

"We want him to be a part of this process. It's a player we want him to like, along with us. It's a player that needs to be on the floor and helping us win games next year."

GM Hammond Isn't 'Happy' With Bucks Season

Bucks general manager John Hammond discussed the teams disappointing season and free agency in a recent radio interview with WSSP in Milwaukee.

"Not happy," Hammond said of his feeling after the 2008-09 campaign. "At the end of the day, 34 wins is not good enough. It would be easy for us to use the Michael Redd excuse, we use the Andrew Bogut excuse and we had an eight game turn-around from 26 wins to 34 wins. We could make all the excuses we want and say that is a good year but for us that's not good enough. We want more than that, we want this team to have a winning record, we want this team to have a winning record for consecutive years and we want to be a playoff team."

He was then asked if any decisions had been made regarding free agents Charlie Villanueva and Ramon Sessions.

"No, there's not yet. It's going to happen the 1st of July once free agency does begin," Hammond said. "I've said this publicly already that it's going to be a little difficult for us probably to be able to resign both, but that's our goal, we would like to and we want to. You can talk about Ramon, Charlie, Charlie, Ramon all you want if you don't have flexibility that's what happens to you, you don't put yourself in a position to say, 'Yeah, we'll match those if we choose to, we won't match those if we choose not to.' You don't have that flexibility. There could be things that restrict you and say we might have to let a player walk because we don't have the room to match something."

Bogut: Milwaukee Is More Stable

Bucks center Andrew Bogut says that the team is much more stable after a season in which they played well despite injuries.

"It's much more steady," Bogut said. "The general manager and the coach are probably here to stay for awhile. They both have the same goal and objectives. The owner is backing both of them and is putting all his faith and trust in them and letting them run things...

"It's going to take time, but I think this season is more of a rough draft of what's to come. We laid the foundation and now it's a matter of having an injury-free year and getting guys back in training camp in shape. That will definitely be a big step to us being successful."
