Jazz forward Matt Harpring developed a strep infection after the surgery to remove a bone spur in his right ankle in June and will miss training camp, the Associated Press is reporting.
The Jazz were headed to Boise, Idaho, to open training camp Tuesday. Harpring was instead going to Santa Barbara, Calif., to work with personal trainers and try to get his ankle ready for the upcoming season.
"It's been a long process," Harpring said.

Jazz point guard Deron Williams hinted during a recent interview that he expects a mass exodus to occur in Utah next summer, according to Deseret News.
"A lot of guys got a little bit of pressure on them this year to perform because it's their contract year. I always think that's a plus," Williams said. "I think that's another reason why this season's so important. While we have everybody here, we've got to make a run at it and see what we can do."
Carlos Boozer, Jarron Collins, Brevin Knight, Kyle Korver, Mehmet Okur, and Ronnie Price will all be unrestricted free agents next summer.
