Coach Doc Rivers turned 40 at about 30,000 feet just after midnight Saturday aboard the Orlando Magic team plane bound for Tampa, site of tonight's preseason game against Atlanta. When the Magic reached their hotel in the wee morning hours after a road trip from North Carolina, a birthday gag-gift awaited Rivers as he stepped from the bus.
It was a wheelchair with Doc's name on it.
Magic General Manager John Gabriel had arranged the prank.
