Antonio Davis says he has to start demanding the basketball.

It has nothing to do with selfishness. It has to do with steering the Raptors away from a soft style of play that is wonderful when it works, but debilitating when it doesn't.

"It's a big danger," Davis said of the Raptors' tendency to rely almost exclusively on outside jump shots during the first two games of their current six-game road trip.

"Outside shots become easier when you're getting something inside. If you're not getting easy baskets, those jumpers mean so much. Then when you miss it's twice as bad because you didn't get anything going. You didn't get any type of momentum.

"I've been trying to be patient, trying to pick and choose my spots. But maybe I just have to stand up, demand the ball and make something happen."
