Coach Dan Issel of the Denver Nuggets has gotten himself in hot water again but not with his team or even his sport.  The Denver Post reports that Issel has made his latest pronouncement on Denver Broncos receiver Eddie Kennison and his decision to leave the team 15 hours before kickoff. "Anybody who walks in 15 hours before kickoff and tells me they're quitting, I don't want them on my team; I don't want them back, and I don't want them in the foxholes when the going gets tough," Issel was heard to say on the radio Tuesday morning. "You just don't do that."

Uh, Dan, sorry to bring this up but there is the little matter of when you quit coaching the 18 and 16 Nuggets 24 hours before a game back in January, 1995. Remember these words of yours? "There are only a couple of things I love, and coaching basketball ain't one of them," Issel said then. Maybe the big difference here is the time -- after all, 9 hours is plenty of time to fill the foxholes.
