In one of the best defensive efforts in the history of NBA playoff basketball, the Detroit Pistons beat the Indiana Pacers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals, 72-67.

The loss ends the Pacers? 14-game home winning streak.  The series now heads back to Detroit with the Pistons holding the home-court advantage.

The victory was punctuated by a game-saving block by Tayshaun Prince on Reggie Miller, the last and most crucial of 19 blocks recorded by the Pistons last night.  This is the second-highest total ever in the playoffs.

Detroit was leading 69-67 when Rasheed Wallace?s dunk attempt was blocked by Jermaine O?Neal and the ball bounded all the way to the backcourt.  Chauncey Billups picked it up but lost it in trying to rush to beat the shot clock.  Tinsley had the ball and fed Miller who was ahead of the play.  But Miller appeared to slow up and Prince got his left hand on the ball as Miller layed it up.

"I saw him in my rear-view mirror," Miller said. "In hindsight, I probably should have dunked the ball, but I thought I had a few steps on him."
