ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher is reporting that Lakers' head coach Rudy Tomjanovich will resign from his position following tonight's game vs Portland.

Tomjanovich missed Sunday night's game vs Charlotte because of the stomach flu, but the reasons behind his resignation remain unknown. Frank Hamblen, the only holdover from the Phil Jackson staff, coached the team on Sunday and will become the interim head coach.

Tomjanovich won two championships as the head coach of the Houston Rockets in mid '90's and was in his first year with the Lakers.
