The Rockets point guard missed Tuesday?s 87-85 loss to Seattle because of soreness in his back.
The Rockets said the injury was in the same area where Sura had October disk surgery, which caused him to miss the first 14 games of the season. Coach Jeff Van Gundy said Sura would be out "a significant amount of time."
Sura will return to Los Angeles for an examination by Dr. Robert Watkins, who performed the original surgery on Oct. 21.
"He's going to be out an extended period of time. How much I don't know," Van Gundy said. "It's not just spasms or anything like that.
