Pape Sow, who had vowed to make this the most active summer of his basketball career, now faces the prospect of spending the next few months recovering from surgery, the Toronto Star is reporting.

The 6-foot-9 Raptors forward was injured in a summer league practice on Tuesday and has been in hospital ever since.

There was speculation that he would be forced to have an operation on his neck, which would cost him all of this summer and probably all of next season as well.

Raptor officials have said he has full use and feeling in all his limbs.
