The Cavaliers are close to signing free agent big man Scot Pollard, the Akron Beacon-Journal is reporting.
The team is waiting for some results of a physical before completing the deal, which is believed to be for one year.
Pollard, a 6-foot-11, 265-pounder, has a relationship with Cavs coach Mike Brown. The two spent two seasons together with the Indiana Pacers, where Pollard learned Brown's complex defensive system.
If the deal goes through, they would have one roster spot remaining, with Rocket guard David Wesley believed to be considered for that position.
