Philadelphia 76ers Head Coach Maurice Cheeks announced today that Moses Malone has been added as an assistant coach. A former Sixers player, NBA Hall of Famer and a three-time league MVP, Malone will primarily work with the team?s big men, after spending time as a team consultant last season.

Selected to the NBA?s 50th Anniversary All-Time Team in 1997, Malone averaged 20.6 points and 12.2 rebounds in his NBA career and 22.1 points and 13.8 rebounds per game in the postseason. A 12-time NBA All-Star, six-time All-NBA selection and a 2001 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, he still owns the league record for most career offensive rebounds (6,731).

Earlier in the day, they also added Jim Lynam.
