The Hornets are involved in trade discussions with several teams to strengthen their bench so starters Chris Paul and David West won't have to continue playing extended minutes.

"(General Manager) Jeff (Bower) and I have talked a lot about trying to make deals to get guys in here that can be better for us," Coach Byron Scott said before Friday's shootaround for their game against the Golden State Warriors at the Oracle Arena. "I'm looking at trades; I'm looking at guys who can hopefully help us, especially our role players and bench guys. It's no secret that I'm very disappointed in our bench for the whole season, and we can't stand still."

Scott declined to name who could be included in a possible deal to obtain more scoring help, particularly in the backcourt. Bower said he would stick to his policy of not commenting on trade rumors.
