You have to expect injuries in the game of basketball, but the Trail Blazers are reeling in the wake of Greg Oden's season-ending knee injury.

Oden fractured his left kneecap in the first quarter of Portland's win over Houston on Saturday night.

"I told everyone in the locker room I felt this was like a punch to the gut," said Blazers general manager Kevin Pritchard.

Oden was the first overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft and missed his entire first season due to injury.

"He told us to keep fighting," Brandon Roy, who scored the winning basket, said. "Greg feels he is letting us down."
