The Wizards are getting close to reducing their luxury tax bill entirely after their seven-player trade with the Mavericks over the weekend.

After sending Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood and DeShawn Stevenson to Dallas, Washington has a tax bill of just $3 million.

A buyout for the recently-acquired Drew Gooden could be an option, but a league source told the Washington Post that one is not being considered or discussed at this point.
