The Mavericks allowed 44 first-half points to Chicago Wednesday, but 62 in the second half, which is why Rick Carlisle made sure they spent much of Friday working on defense.

"If you're going to be a championship-caliber team, you've got to be able to sustain," Carlisle said. "Sustainability is a big part of being a great team. We worked on that today and we're going to have to be better in games going forward."
